Something Old

  |   By Nicole Keen

A stunning vintage recreation from Cabaret.

If you can believe it, we're already working on our next issue of Weddingbells! My mission this week? Find the perfect vintage bridal gown. Surprisingly, it wasn't as difficult as I expected. During a weekend jaunt along Queen St. West here in Toronto, I spotted the retro dress of my dreams in the window of Cabaret, an incredible vintage boutique.

Something Old

I instantly fell for the flattering scoop neckline and super-stylish tulip skirt, but what I love even more is that this dress is actually a vintage recreation. Translation: you can have this dress made in your size, colour preference, etc. Cabaret's employees noticed such a demand for unique wedding dresses that they decided to use the original vintage dress (which is bright turquoise!) as a prototype. There are also two other models available in the Vintage Recreations line, and one of them just might have made its way into the pages of our magazine. I guess you'll have to buy our Spring & Summer 2010 issue to find out!
