Last night in New York City the girls of Sex and the City hit the red carpet for the premiere of the second installation of the über popular series. Tons of celeb fans came out to support including The City's Whitney Port, Becki Newton, Gossip Girl's Jessica Szohr, and even the recently retired Valentino. Patricia Field fans know (she's the brilliant costume designer behind the ladies looks), that it's all about her costumes in the movie - I mean personally I think the fashion is a character all on its own. But for the premiere all four stars opted for pretty, yet fashionably-speaking safe gowns.

Sarah Jessica Parker's yellow one-shoulder Valentino was gorgeous and could totally imagine a version of it for your bridesmaids. I love the idea of yellow. It's such a a fresh and fun colour for your girls! Since Valentino probably isn't an option, I've found a couple similar (yet more affordable) versions that do that trick.

Aside from the fashion, we haven't even talked about the movie itself! Well, I haven't seen it yet, though I hear the Toronto premiere is Wednesday, with the official opening date bring May 27th. I'd say it's a good night to break away from wedding planning and have fun with the girls! I plan to see it with one of my girlfriends soon (although we're not going on opening night). Who is also excited to see the movie? Are you making it a girls night?
