Runway Review: Romona Keveza

Last April I had the pleasure of meeting Romona Keveza at bridal market in New York, and it was great to catch up with her here on Canadian soil! After debuting her latest collection in Toronto—to a standing ovation no less—we met backstage for a chat (stay tuned for an upcoming video!). Romona expressed her desire to create classic, simple silhouettes with a difference: couture embellishments (rose petals, feathers, sparkle) and colour! I instantly fell in love with her wedding gowns in pale shades of peach, blush pink and Tiffany blue. Speaking of Tiffany's, the inimitable Audrey Hepburn was one of Romona's main inspirations for the collection—and it showed! Let's face it, some people never go out of style. Last but not least, I just had to share some of Romona's words of wisdom with you, "Don't settle for anything less than the dress of your dreams, even if you have to cut back in other areas. In time, no one will remember the salad you served, but those pictures of you will be around forever." I couldn't have said it better myself!
