Romona Keveza, a New York-based designer (with Canadian roots), is known for her edgy metropolitan style. Her premiere line, Romona Keveza Collection Bridal, mirrors the contemporary aesthetic of her eveningwear, which is a fixture on Hollywood red carpets. For this collection, Keveza designs within the guidelines of her six archetypal brides: The Fashionista, The Aristocrat, The Goddess, The Modernist, The Princess and The Majestic.
This season, the designer used hints of soft silver and champagne gold to break up her stark white palette. Sophisticated silhouettes and luxurious fabrics create a tight collection with high-impact style. For the fashionista, sharply tailored jumpsuits are offered two ways: On one, the straight lines of a halter V neckline are echoed with a sweeping transparent overskirt; for the other, a corseted bodice is offset by pairing with an ultra-soft marabou feather jacket. The aristocrat is embodied in a chic crepe column with an illusion sweetheart neckline appliquéd with lace flowers and leaves, and a detachable overskirt. Another standout is the Keveza’s modernist look: A column of swirling metallic lace that looks almost laser-cut, featuring a halter neckline, low key-hole back and a signature calla lily overskirt. A show-stopping trio of majestic, princess-inspired ballgowns closes out the line, elaborately festooned with fluttering floral appliqués and Swarovski crystal beading.
