Romona is the newest addition to prolific designer Romona Keveza’s trio of bridal collections. Focused on "[capturing] the essence of the luxury brand without the luxury price tag," the line maintains Keveza’s signature aesthetic of clean lines and timeless silhouettes, in pared back fabrications.
The fall 2018 collection is classic, girly, and elegant. Crisp fabrics like Mikado and silk shantung are pleated and gathered to create structured silhouettes. Gowns are left unadorned—free of beading, appliques, or embroidery. The shapes and lines of the meticulous construction are left to speak for themselves, and do so with quiet confidence. A dramatic detachable bow is the only repeated enhancement, accenting the backs of two ball gowns and fluted trumpet gown. A pair of fit-and-flare minidresses—one with a boat neckline, the other a deep V—are made voluminous with box-pleated skirts.
Texture is added via the accessories, all made with pretty Guipure flowered lace: A flirty capelet, a modish shrug, and a high-collared over blouse.
