Princess brides have appeared to inspire several designers this season, from Vera Wang's shocking return to white to Marchesa's embrace of lace, not to mention Alfred Angelo's blue Cinderella Diamond Collection. Anyone who truly knows about royalty, however, can tell you that behind every dutiful noble is their misbehaved younger sibling. Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret. Kate and Pippa Middleton. Prince William and Prince Harry. None have embraced this dynamic like the paradoxical Reem Acra Fall 2013 collection, which saw a risque feathered frock and ultra-traditional ball gown with a modest lace overlay sashaying down the same runway. While we've observed the likes of Monique Lhuillier juxtaposing thigh-high slits with scalloped lace necklines, the Reem Acra Fall 2013 collection took things a step further, with some dresses verging on transparent and others completely suitable for a religious wedding ceremony. There were also some stylish spill-overs from last season, including two lace peplum dresses. Another common feature was the v-neck, one dress boasting a metallic lace underlay glimmering behind the geometric cut-out. True to form, the Reem Acra Fall 2013 collection included the same intricate beadwork found in previous collections, as well as scalloped necklines, a mainstay on the Reem Acra runways. Lace was also prominent in many of the designs in the Reem Acra Fall 2013 collection.
