Pump It Up

Pump It Up

I have a new love for hair mousse! Many of us remember using it in the 80's, but as the big hair movement came to an end, out went the mousse. I think we were on to something and I'm bringing it back.

Pump It Up

Traditionally hair mousse is used to style naturally curly hair but it can work extremely well to create body and movement with just about any hair length, type or texture. While mousse doesn't provide the firm hold of a styling gel or hair spray, the beauty of it is that it does provide a lighter less sticky hold that makes it the perfect product for lots and lots of volume. It lets your hair feel natural, not stiff or weighed down and adds long lasting fullness to hair that tends to be limp or lack body. Perfect for a bride that wants to wear her hair down.

You can apply it to either wet or dry hair. On fine hair I often use it in place of hair spray before styling with a curling iron or setting the hair in rollers and the results are amazing. Start by shaking the can of mousse vigorously, then squeeze some mousse into one palm. Be careful not to over squeeze, it expands like crazy! Rub your hands together and brush your hands through your hair to evenly distribute the product. Then go ahead and style as you would. Some like to let it air dry, some like to blow dry, it all depends on your hair and the style you are looking for. Experiment, it might be what you've been looking for all this time. Try TRESemme Volume Weightless Body Extra Hold Mousse, available at drugstores.
