The Pronovias Fall 2013 collection -- its self-titled label as well as new releases by resident designers Manuel Motta and Elie Saab -- rivalled Jenny Packham for this season's most glamourous bridal couture. Lavishly beaded gowns, decadent lace and bejewelled flourishes were prominent features on the Pronovias runway, which also showcased several sleeved numbers -- both cap and illusion sleeves. We also counted numerous dresses with a single shoulder strap, reflecting current asymmetry trends in bridal couture. Standout designs from the Pronovias Fall 2013 collection included an ethereal lace A-line gown with a plunging v-neck, a feathered sheath with a glittering scoop-neck bodice, an intricate form-fitting gown with a scalloped back cut-out and pattern overlay and a beaded v-neck sheath that would be just as at home on the red carpet as it would on a petal-lined aisle. A number of high-low dresses boasting contemporary asymmetrical hemlines were also showcased in the Pronovias Fall 2013 collection, along with a cropped ruffle creation ideal for a post-ceremony dress change. Notably absent were ball gowns and a significant number of mermaid dresses, enabling Pronovias (as well as Motta and Saab) to showcase their expertise with the simple, fitted variety, although the dresses made up for their scaled-down size with an abundance of detail. Ultimately, the Pronovias Fall 2013 collection evoked the same drama and glamour we have come to expect from the Spanish bridal atelier with jaw-dropping results.
