Once Upon a Time

  |   By Nicole Keen

Yesterday I promised to give you more juicy details about the shows, so here goes. As previously mentioned, the tunes at Kenneth Pool had all the editors tapping their toes. Catchy hits such as  “Shut Up and Let Me Go” by the Ting Tings, “Poker Face” by Lady Gaga and “If You Seek Amy” by Britney Spears set the tone for a glamorous collection resplendent with Swarovski crystals.

Once Upon a Time

And speaking of all things sparkly, the Priscilla of Boston Bridal Group just launched a brand-new line of gowns entitled Jewel. If you’re looking for a dress that’s traditional with a twist, then Jewel just might be the perfect fit. Our favourite? A satin ballgown with a drop-waist and bedazzled belt. In addition to Jewel, the Priscilla of Boston group also showed five, that’s right, five other collections: Vineyard Collection, Platinum, Priscilla of Boston, Melissa Sweet and Reverie. That’s a whole lotta dresses! Thankfully, there was a brief intermission during which time well-dressed waiters served champagne (in a can, naturally) and cupcakes to all the guests. Delish! Last but not least, I couldn’t help swooning over Reem Acra’s fairy-tale inspired collection (pictured). Using popular princesses such as Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella as her muses, Reem Acra created a line of exquisitely crafted dream dresses with matching veils that are sure to speak to little (and big!) girls everywhere. Check back here tomorrow to read all about Palm Court at the Plaza Hotel and my run in with Badgley Mischka.
