As predicted, the runways and showrooms are awash with inspiration for your big day, and one of my favourite collections so far has to be Amsale. Even a musical mishap couldn’t distract from the exquisite confections being sent down the catwalk, and having no tunes for a New York minute allowed me to soak up some of the other quintessential sounds of bridal market: the tapping of high heels and the clicking of camera shutters. I’ve been a fan of Amsale for a while now, but sitting front row (with my trusty camera in hand, of course) gave me a whole new appreciation for her aesthetic and craftsmanship. She sent 27 thoroughly modern looks down the catwalk including sophisticated bridesmaids dresses and covetable minis from her “Little White Dress” line. For your girls, take a cue from Amsale and choose a flattering shade of navy blue, champagne or dusty rose. Additionally, a LWD with a bubble hem would be absolutely divine for the aforementioned urban retreat! However, I have to say that one of my faves was this strapless A-line dress with a seamed tulle skirt (pictured). I definitely commend Amsale for this fresh take on a traditional fabric.
Honourable mention also goes to Kenneth Pool for the best soundtrack of the day, and Priscilla of Boston for the best mid-show snack. Check back here tomorrow for all the deets!
