As we watched all the gowns float down the runways during bridal fashion week Fall 2020, there was one trend in particular that tugged at our retro-loving hearts: the tea-length bridal gown. Defined as a gown whose skirt hits mid-shin, there's something about this silhouette that's absolutely darling, and perfect for a bride who isn't afraid of showing off her wedding shoes. Because, let's face it, if you have the perfect wedding shoes, you'll want to show everyone.
We saw this trend solidify itself as one of the hottest for 2020 when Zoe Kravitz revealed her stunning custom drop-waist Alexander Wang bridal gown from her wedding last June that had her looking every bit like a beautiful ballerina. The dress looks like a nod to Audrey Hepburn's gown in the movie Funny Face, and, according to Vogue, Zoe referenced the actress when coming up with her gown design with Wang.
If you want to channel retro vibes on your own wedding day, here are some of our favourite tea-length bridal gowns from the Fall 2020 runways.
