Twentyseven is a new hair and makeup salon at St. Clair and Davenport that’s perfect for brides who take their fashion cues from the runways of Paris, rather than the boards of Pinterest. Owner Olivia Colacci is a hair and makeup artist who has spent most of her career dolling up models for fashion weeks around the world. After living in Milan and Miami, she decided to return home this year to launch a salon where clients can receive the same kind of glamorous backstage treatment. “Staying up to date on trends has always been really important to me,” she says. “And I learned way more from working on shows than I would have anywhere else.”
With the help of her brother, the co-founder of the Drake General Store, they gutted a corner plot and turned it into a stylish, peaceful retreat with vintage furniture, plenty of lush plants and four beauty stations. “I wanted it to be cozy, bright and soothing,” she says. Bridal groups are welcome to come into the space for hair and makeup trials, and Colacci is available for on-site primping. She loves textured hair, dewy skin and neutral tones—so brides can trust they won’t end up with a dramatic smoky eye that they’re not used to. “I always try to make brides a healthier, more glowy version of themselves,” she says. Her bridal hair and makeup services start at $450.
