Brides seeking a little drama for their springtime nuptials will adore Naeem Khan’s latest offering. For his Spring 2016 collection, Khan named each of his stunning gowns after lavish, exotic locales and used billowing tulle fabric and glittering embellishments to bring an equally glamourous feel to his designs. Looks exuded a sense of regality, with many pieces pairing elegant long sleeve gloves alongside magnificent crowns and sparkling statement earrings. Metallic embellishments and beading also added to the collection’s opulent aesthetic and featured prominently on a stunning lustrous gown encrusted with silver star clustered beadwork as well as a gorgeous V-neck sheath gown with sleek long sleeves and metallic wave beading.
Detailing was also dramatic yet elegant with several dresses boasting intricate keyhole backs, textured floral appliques, sequins and lace overlay. The collection was a perfect combination of timeless designs paired with bolder elements, which saw traditional A-line gowns elevated by tiered tulle skirts, Watteau trains and voluminous veils. Mermaid silhouettes also made appearances throughout the collection, with many donning layered bottoms, which coupled beautifully with curve-hugging bodices. Khan opted for off-whites and ivory for his collection, even adding a pop of colour with a striking French blue tulle hand-painted gown and matching hand-painted veil as well as a French blue rose-print silk strapless gown. Brides in search of more unconventional yet equally glamourous designs need look no further than Khan’s stunning asymmetrical ivory satin short dress and sleek sequin-adorned off-white tux.
