Monique Lhuillier Spring 2016 Wedding Dresses

  |   By Lindsay Mar

Monique Lhuillier Wedding Dress

Monique Lhuillier’s Spring 2016 collection delved deep into the world of Alice in Wonderland. Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s popular tale, Lhuillier’s elegant designs created the perfect mix of sensuality and fantasy. Sultry plunging necklines added an ultra-feminine touch to the collection, while beaded details, sparkling floral accents and glittering illusion sleeves evoked a youthful, dreamy feel. Lhuillier’s signature use of voluminous tulle layers injected the enchanting essence of her fairytale imagery into each of her designs -- a particularly exquisite example was a honey-coloured strapless paillette tulle layered ball gown with luminous cascading beading.

The collection also included a handful of sleek, fitted numbers, including a stunning lace embroidered dress complete with a billowing tulle train as well as a satin trumpet gown with an embellished bodice and delicate tulle shawl. Subtle colour also brought charm to the collection with gowns fashioned in neutral shades of blush, mist, honey and soft blue. Other signature elements woven throughout Lhuillier’s enchanting collection included floral lace appliques, daring cut outs and intricate back detailing, which flawlessly completed the line’s sensual and romantic aura.
