Mineral Obsession

  |   By Alison McGill

Mineral makeup is all the rage these days, in the eco-friendly era that is 2007. One of the pioneers of mineral makeup is a line called Jane Iredale and everything in this collection is, in a word, incredible! My local spa turned me on to Jane Iredale products last year and I have been using the company’s hallmark product, Amazing Base Loose Minerals SPF 20, ever since and my skin has never looked better. It’s an all-in-one foundation, powder, concealor and sunscreen formulated without oil, talc or harmful dyes.

One light swoop of the powder is all I need to cover up any imperfections and it lasts all day—I don’t have to blot, EVER. I’ve tried the line’s lipsticks, glosses and blushes too, all amazing, but my latest obsession is the PureLash Lengthening Mascara. It curls, elongates and glides on my lashes like silk, plus it wears beautifully—no flaking, running or smudging. Get some of this stuff; it’s pure makeup magic! Go to to find a spa that stocks it in your area.
