This past Tuesday, WB’s Sara Duck had a brush with fame—she got up close and personal with celebrity makeup artist and fabulous girl Carmindy (best known as the on-air beauty expert on What Not to Wear). Carmindy, who’s had her work featured on the pages of InStyle, Elle and Marie Claire was in town promoting her new book, 5-Minute Face: The Every Day and Every Night Quick and Easy Makeup Guide for Every Woman (Harper Collins Canada, $24). Of course, the book features a fabulous chapter on wedding makeup, but while Sara had Carmindy for a one-on-one, she quizzed the beauty guru about her top three makeup musts for brides (and snapped this great pic!).

Makeup like a Star!

Waterproof mascara. “You certainly don’t want your tears of happiness to turn into watery black streaks on your cheeks!”

Powder. “The only shine on your face should be from your bright smile, so keep the powder close so you can blot often and ensure picture-perfect skin.”
Moisturizing lip colour. “Dark shades are a definite no-no—keep it soft and pretty and remember to touch up your lips throughout the day.”
