If the fall season has taught us anything, it's that the coming of cooler days brings about a change in moods and shades. This also applies to your bridal party. Autumn weddings are a great opportunity to incorporate the multitude of rich hues inspired by fall foliage. Consider shades most often associated with the season such as wine, scarlet, plum and burgundy. Jewel tones like emerald, ruby, sapphire and onyx also naturally complement warmer colours, and are often integrated into fall-inspired weddings. Planning on an elegant evening or a black-tie only reception? Metallics, sequins and floor length embroidered numbers are perfect for your girls.
Don't forget to select appropriate fabrics and cuts when thinking about the gowns. Be sure to choose a cut and fabric that will flatter everyone in your bridal party. A heavier satin is one of the most popular fabrics, but a layered chiffon dress with sequined embroidery throughout the sheer layers look lush. If you want a bold look for your party, (or dread the cold) sleeved options in a detailed lace could also do the trick. You could also assign colours to each bridesmaid and allow each girl to select her own dress in that pre-assigned shade.
All in all, be creative! Now is a perfect opportunity to gather inspiration for your autumn affair (this year or next). Here, we show you some examples of ways to keep your bridesmaids fashionable in fall favourites.
