The Kenneth Pool Fall 2013 collection was all about mermaid cuts and ball gowns. With 15 dresses in total, designs ran the gamut from sleek and asymmetrical to poofy princess, all displayed by models in uniform beehive hairdos à la Mad Men. Some highlights from the Kenneth Pool Fall 2013 collection included an organically draped ball gown with a bejewelled statement belt and sweetheart neckline, a softly ruched mermaid gown with a lavish ruffled skirt and a massive lace ball gown that would make Scarlet O'Hara proud. Straps and alternating fabrics in layers of silk, lace and tulle were also key elements in the Kenneth Pool Fall 2013 collection. Several dresses featured the popular sweetheart neckline; we saw numerous v-necks as well. Like Amsale, Kenneth Pool avoided sleeves, which were otherwise all over the runways this season -- this isn't surprising considering designer Amsale Arberra is the creative director of this label as well. "My other collections are more about softness and simplicity, and designing Kenneth Pool allows me to express the more elaborate side of my personality," says Arberra, whose creations for Kenneth Pool appropriately showcased glitzy adornments like crystals and silk flowers. The emphasis of Kenneth Pool Fall 2013 appeared to be somewhere between modern glamour and classic with a twist -- decidedly beautiful, either way.
