Houghton Fall 2015 Wedding Dresses

  |   By Lindsay Mar

Bridal Fashion Week, Fall 2015, Houghton, October 2014

Tailor-made for the fashion-forward bride, Houghton’s Fall 2015 collection is the perfect mix of contemporary chic and classic sophistication. Designer Katharine Polk credits her inspiration as a stylish blend of Katherine Hepburn and Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw. Keeping in sync with her innovative theme, Polk unveiled her collection in five distinct sections, each exploring various design elements such as colour and fabrics, with no one look replicating the next. The designer’s experiment with textures was at the forefront of several pieces, including a daring mohair cropped sweater paired with a sheer patterned skirt and a white, rabbit-fur-lined leather motorcycle jacket over a pink, tiered organza gown. Colours ranged from off-whites to pale pinks and soft blues – a popular hue for Fall 2015. Silhouettes were also given an edgier boost with tailored jumpsuits, short skirts, feminine one-shoulder gowns and voluminous tulle-layered bottoms complete with silk jersey t-shirt tops.
