Here Comes the Bride

  |   By Alison McGill

A friend of mine recently got married and one wedding detail that completely stumped her was the soundtrack for her walk down the aisle. She wanted something with panache and personality, not your traditional “Pachelbel’s Canon.”

Here Comes the Bride

I remember watching a wedding on Coronation Street recently where the bride marched the aisle to Oasis’ “Wonderwall” and thinking it was très chic. With this in mind, we brainstormed, covering bands she liked, songs she and her mister loved and tunes that would match the feel of her intimate luncheon wedding…then voila! In less than 20 minutes we hit on the perfect tune—“It Had to Be You” by Harry Connick Jr. The song was totally her, one her and her guy used to always chill out to, and a sweet and sassy choice for her stroll down the aisle. I’d love to hear what tune you’ve chosen for your grand entrance—share your musical thoughts below.
