Heartbreaker

  |   By Michelle Rosen

I just attended the best bridal shower. I only wish I had come up with the idea myself! The shower was held at a cute little nail bar on Dundas Street in Toronto called Heartbreaker (998 Dundas St. W., 416-869-0440, heartbreakersalon.ca). Not only do they do nails, they do full service aesthetics and they boast the greatest variety of graphic nail decals in Toronto. The shades of colour by the eco-friendly brand Zoya nail lacquers are sure not to disappoint.

Heartbreaker

The salon was opened by owners Taraleigh and Shelley of Barberella—the equally stylish hair salon next door. It set the scene perfectly for a girlie afternoon of appies, cocktails and manis and pedis. The two levels made it ideal for a private function of about 12 ladies and the bordello red and gold wallpaper made it impossible to take a bad photo. The host provided the eats and drinks and we had two aestheticians booked strictly for us.  We mingled and enjoyed the refreshments as we took turns getting pampered.  So if you don't have the space to host a shower at your place or just need a good idea for a shower, steal this idea and make it your own. I promise not to tell!
