I think Nicole Kidman has finally got her groove back on the red carpet. I credit the return to red hair (that blonde was just not good on her), a little less facial filling and the radiant glow of new motherhood. Absolutely loved her look at the SAG awards on Sunday night. Her Nina Ricci gown was flawless (imagine that in white…hello show-stopping wedding dress!), the statement necklace AH-mazing and I especially loved her messy updo, always my style of choice for ‘done’ bridal hair. Her hair was created by Hollywood hair guru David Babaii who says his inspiration was “modern elegance.” How to get the look? Babaii started by applying Couture Colour Pequi Oil Treatment (this is a new miracle product rumoured to launch this March) to Kidman’s wet hair, blowdrying with an iconic dryer to make hair extra sleek and sexy. Babaii then combed back Kidman’s hair at the top and sides to create volume. To begin the up-do, he swept the hair gently over creating a faux side-part and bringing the rest of the hair to the center back and securing with a band just at the top of the nape. David wrapped the hair into an un-structured Chignon and secured with bobby pins—the styling secret was not to over comb or smooth the hair so the finish was very au naturel. To finish, he used additional Pequi Oil to her bang area to define strands, then amped up the glam factor by adding a glittering brooch on the side.
