Canadian designer Adele Wechsler truly broke new ground when she released her first Eco Couture collection several years ago. Since then she has certainly changed the way we look at environmentally friendly fashion: her dresses made from sustainable fabrics such as hemp and organic silk are undeniably chic—with a conscience!
For her latest collection, Adele has unveiled an awesome new concept: the convertible gown. Named "Chrysalis," which refers to a caterpillar's transformation into a butterfly, these gowns can be worn long for the ceremony and then changed into a mini for the party. I'm absolutely in love with the Laurel (pictured), and you can't argue with a two-in-one dress! Adele has recently partnered with Aveda, and the two are throwing quite the "green" party in Toronto this coming Tuesday, May 11. For those of you who live or work in the area, drop into Civello's Rosedale location to preview Adele's most recent gowns and consult with Aveda specialists about your ideal wedding hair and makeup. Plus, you can enter to win tons of amazing prizes, including an Eco Couture gown or a honeymoon at Hamanasi, an eco-friendly resort in Belize! Call 416-924-9244 to RSVP.
