Get The Bridal Beauty Look: Carolina Herrera Spring 2014

  |   By Alison McGill

We were backstage at the gorgeous Carolina Herrera Spring 2014 show to scope out the stunning makeup look created by Kim Soane for Bobbi Brown. Soane told us she focused on creating a look that complemented the collection's feminine ribbon trimmed veils, capelets and shimmering gold-foil accents. "The collection definitely has a classic feeling to it and I wanted to keep the makeup look classsic as well," Soane told us. "I chose a palette of rose gold for the entire face to give it a hint of colour that was not overpowering. It's also a shade that looks amazing on all skin tones."

For the eyes, Soane filled in arches to create a defined brow then lightly smoked eyes with brown shadow and gel liner which she smudged along the lash line. To give cheeks a pretty glow she used a rose gold blush. Soane finished the look with a creamy rose lip colour with a finish that was somewhere between a lipstick and a gloss.

While we had her expert attention, we quizzed Soane on her thoughts for perfect bridal makeup and she offered some valuable insight. "Every bride should look beautiful on her wedding day and the trick is to keep wedding makeup looking soft and not overpowering," Soane says. "It's important to start with good skin and use it as your canvas. Also steer clear of putting too much shimmer on the skin—you just want to add a bit of highlight here and there so skin has a nice bounce to it,"
