Elizabeth Fillmore Fall 2013

  |   By Jen O'Brien

Nature and all of its mysteries was the inspiration for the Elizabeth Fillmore Fall 2013 collection. The designer describes this collection as being influenced by "overgrown ponds and streams swarming with butterflies, dragonflies and endless flora." These sources of inspiration, butterflies in particular, were interpreted quite literally within the Elizabeth Fillmore Fall 2013 collection, with its sheer vintage-inspired gowns and fluttering motifs. The eight-gown Fall offering includes "Gypsy," a satin back slip dress with vintage beaded illusion butterfly back motif, "Tia," a butterfly tulle gown with draped sweetheart neckline and butterfly tulle peplum over ivory and nude chiffon, and"Evangeline," which features a butterfly tulle jewel neckline and bell sleeves. Floral lace also features prominently within the Elizabeth Fillmore Fall 2013 collection, used for the creation of both romantic, flowing gowns and chic capelets.

A perfect fit for the boho bride marrying in an ethereal garden setting, the designer says that she worked with the different artists to create original embroideries, beading and lace for her Elizabeth Fillmore Fall 2013 wedding gowns. These stunning, airy dresses are meant to create a sense of weightlessness -- the illusion that the bride is almost floating down the aisle goddess-like. What more could a girl ask for on her wedding day?
