Designer Foundation

Designer Foundation

Last weeks' entry was all about my favourite sheer tinted moisturizer, but not everyone is blessed with not needing more coverage. I would say the number one request by clients is for their makeup artist to give them a flawless complexion. Everyone wants to look like an airbrushed version of themselves, especially on their wedding day.  One of the most raved about foundations on the market is the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Liquid Foundation and I have to completely agree.

No.

The reviews boast about the exclusive Micro-fil technology, its weightless texture and fact that it is oil free. In my opinion, it is all true, but it's not just the foundation alone that does the magic. Another amazing Armani product is called Fluid Sheer and it comes in a range of versatile hues that you can add directly into the foundation or wear alone to help illuminate your skin. It really makes a difference using these two products together.

As the product description reads, "Fluid sheer dresses skin in an illuminating veil of radiance." Need I say more? I have to admit the first time I tried it I wasn't 100% sold, but then I played around with it and saw the results on camera. Flawless! The trick is in the application. You definitely want to apply this foundation with a foundation brush. Most makeup lines now carry one. You can do a one-stop shop and just buy the Armani blender brush or go with a M.A.C. foundation brush #190 or #191. You need to blend with fine feathery strokes and layer for your desired coverage. You also want to be sure that you have a proper colour match. Your best bet is to trust the artist at the Giorgio Armani beauty counter because they are hands on with the line all day everyday and are bound to get it right! Get them to match you up and be sure to check it in natural light. Don't be shy to ask for a sample so you can take it home and try it out yourself.
