Wedding dress by Elizabeth Emanuel. Is she Kate's designer?
For the past couple of months---almost from the very moment the royal engagement was announced---Bruce Oldfield has been pegged as the probable designer of Kate's wedding dress. However, in light of Oldfield's recent media engagements, rumours have started to circulate that he is not indeed the one. Oldfield has been doing a fair bit of chatting lately, on Good Morning America for instance, and it stands to reason that he would probably be less vocal if he was working on this top-secret project. But if it's not Oldfield then who is it? According to a royal insider, the designer of Kate's wedding gown is young and female. We previously mentioned Philippa Lepley whose name has been bandied about quite a bit. Elizabeth Emanuel (one half of the designer duo that created Princess Diana's dress) has also been mentioned. Other possible candidates include: Sarah Burton (now head designer at Alexander McQueen), Jenny Packham, Stella McCartney, Amanda Wakeley and Marchesa.
