Day 21: The Royals Jewelry Collection

Just in time for the Royal Wedding, Toronto-based jeweler Shelly Purdy has launched a stunning new collection of engagement rings, wedding bands and accessory pieces called The Royals. Inspired by all thing British the collection features three engagement rings, one a stunning marquis cut with a tiny sapphire details, the designer’s nod to Diana. “I did a lot of research to get the details of this collection and was inspired by everything Diana’s famous Cambridge Lovers Knot tiara, the feel of which you can see in the ring settings, to the rose gold I used in the Prince of Wales wedding band,” Purdy says. “Rose gold as we know is special to the royal family and it is tradition that they have their wedding bands crafted from the metal.” On that note, Purdy admits she, like so many others, was shocked to hear that William will not be wearing a wedding ring. “I would love to get my rose gold band into his hands and I’m sure he would change his mind!” All of the large stones in used the collection are Canadian-mined and supporting Canadian diamonds is something Purdy is very passionate about.
