I’m having a rose gold moment and so too are jewllery makers who have warmed to this gorgeous glowing metal. To get technical for a minute, rose gold (it can also be known as pink and red gold) is actually a copper and gold alloy. It was very popular in Russia at the beginning of the 19th century which is why it's sometimes known as Russian gold. I think this gold looks amazing on all skin tones and looks particularly fantastic when paired with white gold or platinum. Doesn’t this vintage-style engagement ring look spectacular with the two metals mixed?
Another amazing example of these metal pairings is this stack of narrow Tiffany Somerset bands, available in white, yellow and rose gold ($725 each). The three combined look stunning and would make a perfect right hand match for a mixed metal engagement ring.
