Alyssa Conrad, the owner of Calgary bridal boutique Pearl and Dot, is a former wedding planner who sensed her hometown was in need of a style-focused bridal mecca at the end of 2015. Named after her two grandmothers, the appointment-only boutique is housed in a stunning historic loft and sells elegant gowns plucked right off NYC runways (so you’ll never feel stuffed into a cupcake).

Beautifully whimsical designers like Theia, Truvelle and Alexandra Grecco are always on hand—and brides can drool over trunk shows from the likes of Daalarna Couture or The Law Bridal (ahem, excuse us). Prices range from $1,600 to $7,000, but most gowns clock in around $2,000 to $3,000.
