A Chic Plus-Size Bridal Boutique In Winnipeg

The Perfect Gown opened last fall after owner Joanne Roth, a soon-to-be retired educational assistant and recent mother-of-the-bride, had watched her daughter struggle to find a decent number of dresses to try on in her size. “There are 13 bridal shops in Winnipeg, but the selection for her was poor to none,” says Roth. So she got to work creating a stylish shop with extra-roomy fitting rooms, flattering lighting, and, most importantly, racks of looks in sizes 14 to 32.

The feedback has been positive, to say the least. Prices range from $500 to $3,000, and brides can find all sorts of dynamite looks that are the opposite of frumpy, like a sophisticated V-neck number with a waist-hugging band or a romantic floral chiffon gown that looks straight out of a fairy-tale.
