Designer Carolina Herrera is known for her timeless, elegant style and she approached her spring 2018 collection with the same aesthetic. According to Vogue, this season the iconic designer was inspired by the thought of a fresh country wedding and presented the collection amongst a setting of white hydrangeas and quaint garden benches.
The line was refined and edited, full of classic silhouettes with a modern edge and plenty of mix and match separates. Many pieces were adorned with oversized bows dotting sleeves, necklines and low backs for a touch of sleek femininity. Herrera also introduced a few off-the-shoulder options, which is a style that flooded spring 2017 ready to wear runways.
A few highlights from the line include a delicate tulle ballgown skirt paired with a simple beaded t-shirt and a mid-calf A-line dress with a bow on the back that would feel right at home for an intimate backyard party or more casual affair. The most intricate pieces were two strapless ballgowns with hand sewn floral appliques along the bodice and skirts. The whole collection embodies timeless elegance but in a way that feels new and fresh for 2018.
