Bold Bridal Lippy

I ALWAYS wore matte red lips in the ’80s. Paired with lots of black kohl liner I was the vision of New Wave chic. This weekend I found myself in the mood for ripe, red lips and started riffling through my makeup drawer to see what I had in stock. I knew I had a good lippy in stock, just the right shade of matte red that looks amazing paired with both smudgy eyes or barely-there shadow. I’m talking about MAC Russian Red, a shade made famous by Madonna circa the late ’80s during her “Express Yourself” and “Vogue” era. Russian Red is quite simply one of the best classic reds out there. It looks good on everyone and delivers a concentrated hit of colour in a matte formula that is built to last. I love the look of red lips and nails with a white wedding dress. It’s dramatic and different and oh-so-stylish.
