If you think Carmindy is fabulous on “What Not To Wear” you should meet her. She is ultra-fabulous in person! Honestly, Carmindy is one of the nicest, most talented women I’ve met and can I tell you she is absolutely GORGEOUS. Her skin is to die for and her hair and makeup is flawless, as you would expect it to be. In Toronto promoting the new Sally Hansen Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy line (it’s a beautiful eco-line available on The Shopping Channel and at Shoppers Drug Mart in October), I had the chance to ask her some of your burning bridal beauty questions and she even a video for you with some of her top tips.
Now, let’s tackle some of the questions you asked us to ask Carmindy.
Q. Should I wear false eyelashes on my wedding day? “Yes, but I have a few tips for you. Use waterproof glue to attach lashes and make sure you do a practice run with your lashes and even try crying with them on. You want to make sure they stay in place for the day.”
Q. If I break out on my wedding day, what is the best way to hide a pimple? “Dab a bit of salicylic acid on your spot the night before. On your wedding day, wash and moisturize your face as usual, apply your foundation, but when it comes to the spot, use a small concealor brush to apply it directly and precisely to the area. Use your brush to put on concealor and a dab of powder—you should be good to go for the day!”
Q. I love red lipstick but I have red hair. What is the best shade for me? A. “A warm tomato or rich brick colour.”
Q. What kind of makeup can you suggest a great longwearing line? A. All of the products in the Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy line have amazing staying power. My foundation Your Skin Makeup lasts and looks flawless all day—I wear it and the entire line on “What Not to Wear.”
Q. Any makeup tips for a destination wedding in a hot, humid climate? A. Use a mattifying gel. It will help keep skin matte and fresh. Apply after moisturizer and before any other makeup. Also, in a pinch apply unscented antiperspirant to hands and rub lightly on the oily areas of your face. This is only in a pinch though!”
