For their 2016 Spring collection, design duo Mark Badgley and James Mischka introduced an assortment of Old Hollywood-inspired designs infused with luscious romantic elements. The eight-piece collection showcased gowns fashioned in wistful fabrics of tulle, lace and organza, which recalled the airy, light essence of spring. The duo opted for classic silhouettes featuring sumptuous ballgowns and traditional A-lines — ideal for brides in search of a more timeless aesthetic. Curve-hugging styles were also incorporated throughout the line and offered a more sensual touch to the designers’ creations. Layering proved an exquisite addition to gowns with several donning sheer, tiered skirts, giving the dresses a free-flowing effect. Capturing this look was a gorgeous ballgown laden with soft, layered tulle, accompanied by a beaded ivory sweetheart bodice. The collection also featured elegant tulle and lace overlay gowns covered with eye-catching iridescent beadwork as well as floral and petal embroidery. While each look effortlessly exuded Badgley Mischka’s penchant for feminine, opulent designs, the duo’s aesthetic truly shone through with a fitted gown boasting illusion long sleeves, radiant floral accents and a soft tulle overlay skirt, for a perfect translucent waterfall effect.
