For my wedding day, I opted for three-inch Franco Sarto patent heels to match my modern gown. While I totally love them (I still wear them), by the end of the night I was reduced to dancing in my bare feet! More and more brides seem to be making the stylish, yet comfortable choice of flats because they easily waltz them from ceremony through to reception without so much as a pinch.
Whether you practice around the house in your heels, or decide to go with flats, I urge you to learn from the mistakes of those of us who have gone before you! Here are three options for all of you smart brides to consider:
SAVE - $28
If you’re looking for classic ballerina flats and don’t want to spend a fortune, consider The Dessy Group’s Wedding Ballet Flats. These darling satin shoes come in a variety of colours so you could buy them for your bridesmaids too and save money and the environment by shipping them all together.
SAVE - $69
For a thrifty yet fashionable choice, we loved these Strahan pointy-toe ballet flats from Nine West. They come in muted silver, so you could justify the slightly higher price point by wearing them post-wedding with a pair of skinny jeans.
SPLURGE - $200 (Regular price $300)
If you have a bit more money to spend but still like to spend wisely (read: you love deals!), there is a pair of Jimmy Choo Silver Sparkle Ballet Flats available for $200 on SmartBride Boutique. The subtle shimmer effect will add a bit of sparkle when your toes peek out from under your dress on the dance floor.
