3 Fall Beauty Trends, Bridalized

Runways are a huge source of style inspiration for us and should be for you too when it comes to your wedding look. Specifically we love analyzing the best in beauty and suggesting how you can wear the key seasonal trends on you wedding day. To transform the looks from runway to wedding day friendly, we asked Eddie Malter, official makeup artist for L’Oreal Paris in Canada (and the creative genius behind more than 25 runway looks at the Toronto's LG Fashion Week for fall 2011) for help. Here’s his three hot trend picks.

1. Iridescent Eyes. “One of the hot trends in eye makeup for fall and winter is a combo of icy blue and frosty white eye shadows—with a of glitter—applied to the top eye lid only to create a ’70s-inspired look. For your wedding day, I recommend taking the idea of shimmer from this look and veiling your eyelid with a light shade like beige, pink or lilac. Apply a think line of black liner to along the upper lash line and finish with black mascara on the top and bottom lashes. The look is absolutely captivating!”

2. A Provocative Pout. “Creamy shades of earthy brown lipstick or soft, orange lip colour that creates a luscious look reminiscent of the ’70s and ’90s are huge for fall. To make this trend bridal-friendly, I would recommend lightening lips up to a soft, neutral brown or a soft coral, and using gloss instead of lipstick.”

3. The Smokey Eye. “The other hot trend in eye makeup for fall is the smoky eyes, created using rich shimmering shades of silver, violet and black shadows. Soften the look by using the same tones, just lighter versions. Also colour should be applied with a light hand as you don’t want eyes too dark and dramatic for your walk down the aisle!”
