15 Tangy Tangerine Wedding Style Ideas

  |   By Alison McGill

Orange is an uplifting and attention-grabbing colour. It's also a love it or hate it kind of colour, with opponents citing prison uniforms as a less than pleasant association. But Tangerine Tango has been a Pantone Colour of the Year in the past, and even though it isn't for everyone, we love this juicy, citrus shade, and not just for fall. There are tons of ways to work sunset hues into your wedding, and not just decor-wise. Here are a few unconventional and zesty styling ideas for your once-in-a-lifetime event.

Luminous lip colour

Rouge Volupté in Incandescent Orange by YSL

Say I do in a gorgeous modern shade of lippy that keeps your lips looking moisturized and kissable for hours while matching your theme. This medium-coverage hydrating YSL Rouge Volupté Shine lipstick comes in a few orangey shades, including Orange Impertinent, Orange Perfecto, and Corail Marrakech and they look fab on all skin colours. They smell fantastic, too, with the scent of one of our favourite orange-coloured fruits, mango!

Sky-high sunny heels

Find them at Aldo Shoes

This strappy Aldo heel with gold accents is sexy and seriously orange. It would look great with a boho wedding dress, and you could use it multiple times after the wedding. Picture these shoes on your feet as you stroll around a coastal town on your honeymoon or dance the night away in, say, Ibiza. Smart casual at its best.

The perfect peachy pump

Shoe by Aldo

How about a suede platform pump that delivers style and height? This pair of Aldo shoes are a little more formal than the last one and has an elegant finish. If you're going to wear a fancy white dress with a high-low hemline and your footwear is one of the star attractions, this is the kind of shoe you'll want to show off.

Orange around the wrist

Find it at Hermes

Hermès, one of the most lusted-after French luxury brands, loves orange so much it put the colour in its logo. This enamel Hermès bracelet in the label's signature clementine shade will make the perfect wedding day gift if you've got loved ones asking you what you'd like. A version that replaces the carriage logo with an iconic gold-plated H also looks spectacular. You can wear it at your reception and for years to come.

Original in orange

Orange men's bow tie shirt at Spread Shirt

If your partner has the confidence to pull this one off, it'll add a touch of humour to the day and give your album some pep. A novelty orange men's bow tie shirt can be worn under a suit jacket during the vow exchange. Then your hipster spouse can whip it off if it gets too hot or they want to hit the dancefloor feeling unencumbered. An OG choice, for sure!

Tangerine tasty

Sunshine fragrance body lotion by Clarins

This sunny formula moisturizes skin leaving it looking smooth and touchable, and essential oils including Sicilian mandarin, tonka bean, and grapefruit will make you smell the way your decor looks—fresh and delicious. You can take this cream on your honeymoon for post-sun application, and your skin will stay soft after days spent chilling poolside, swimming, and frolicking with your boo.

Orange you glad you smell great?

Happy for Men by Clinique

Lean into your theme with a unisex citrusy perfume for you or your spouse that's great for all occasions. This long-lasting, slightly verdant masculine scent won't give you or your love a migraine the way many colognes tend to, and it's affordable too. You'll want to snuggle up for a deep inhale of summer, no matter the time of year.

Apricot accessories

This patent leather Ted Baker bag with a cute French bulldog clasp takes your favourite fiery colour and makes it glossy. Perhaps your maid of honour could keep your powder and orange lipstick for touchups, and tissues for the speeches, in a clutch like this.

Bedeck your bridesmaids

Lela Rose bridesmaid dress at Dessy

It's easy to dismiss orange as a tacky and unattractive shade. But this satin bridesmaid dress with a black sash has the prettiest clementine hue and would work on different skin colours. Run the idea by your gal pals, and you'll find most, if not everyone, would be happy to don this flattering frock.

Bold brooches

Brooches are the perfect way to add a dash of colour and accessory flair. The shade of orange on this floral brooch is more on the red end of the spectrum, and we love the energy and dynamism it conveys. You can incorporate brooches in flowerless bouquets or attach them to your sash where you've tied your bow.

Nail that nail colour

This bright orange polish has a non-sparkly creamy finish—it's like freshly squeezed carrot juice and OJ, and we're fans. Do a set of French tips if you don't want your nails to be entirely swathed in soda-like colour.

This bangle's the bomb

Crystal confetti small dot bangle by Kate Spade

Deep orange-toned gems give this feminine bangle a bold feel. It manages to look both contemporary and vintage in style, and we might be in love.

Whimsy in orange

This type of chic tie from the luxury Italian brand Salvatore Ferragamo is an excellent way for your groom to add to your colour scheme. It's also fab for pulling your love toward you for a smooch after you both hightail it out of the reception.

A cozy clementine cardigan

There'll be no losing track of you, the most VIP of VIPs if you wear this safety orange shade at your wedding. Cardigans come in handy if you wear a day-to-night dress and the temperatures drop after sunset. Cozy and eye-catching, what more could you ask for?

Rich rings and things

Bling up with this stunning chalcedony and 18k gold ring for your right hand. It matches the aforementioned gold and reddish Kate Spade bangle to a T.
