To the northeast of Adelaide you’ll find probably the most well known South Australian wine region, the Barossa Valley, which is stands alongside Bordeaux and Tuscany for its world-class grapes and winemakers. In the Barossa you’ll come across names like Penfolds, Yalumba and Wolf Blass alongside impressive newcomers like Yelland & Papps, who are quickly making a name for themselves. Travel further north still and you’ll find the Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions best known for its rieslings.
