A Romantic Mountain Wedding At The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Kailey and David began their celebration with a first look session at Old Fort Point in Jasper. “It had been a bit rainy earlier in the day, but it cleared just in time for dramatic views of Mt. Edith Cavell with clouds rolling over,” David describes. “It all started feeling real as I was walking up the wooden steps to the lookout. Kailey looked more beautiful than I could have imagined, her dress was amazing, and her ability to walk along that ledge barefoot was impressive!”

Blues and gold, with a pop of red, made up the natural colour scheme. “We wanted to complement the colours that surrounded us during late summer in the Canadian Rockies,” Kailey explains. “Blue and gold payed homage to our time spent in the south of France the year before we were married. My engagement ring and wedding band were also in rose gold.”

The bride and groom took off for a spin between their wedding and reception. “We sped off in my dad’s Triumph TR-6 convertible,” Kailey says. “We had so much fun sharing these first moments together as husband and wife driving around the JPL grounds with the top down and my veil blowing in the wind. Our photographer and videographer were chasing us in a golf cart snapping photos and video. We were so happy they were able to capture the pure joy we felt in that moment.”

Along with personalized decor and details such as cocktail napkins and an amazing lounge area, the couple added their own twist on dessert and the midnight snack. “We both have a major sweet tooth and had so much fun creating—and sampling—our French pâtisserie-inspired dessert bar,” Kailey remarks. “Our midnight snack was the ultimate comfort food inspired by our initials: deluxe ‘KD’ mac n’ cheese!”
