A Modern Copper And Silver Wedding In Winnipeg

a modern copper and silver wedding in winnipeg, manitoba - bride and groom

For their wedding, Joelle and Philip wanted their wedding to be modern and chic. “We imagined the wedding representing our mutual tastes,” Joelle explains. “Our home is full of cool tones with modern, geometric decor.” The couple brought this to life for the wedding by using grey linens to contrast the copper geometric accents, complemented by white and green floral arrangements.

The flowers were one of the bride’s favourite details. “The Floral Fixx did an amazing job of creating arrangements that maximized our theme, while also honouring my request to include my mother in the day,” Joelle explains. “She passed away a few years ago, and I decided one way I could include her was through the florals. She loved flowers, so I incorporated some of her favourites, including white roses, eucalyptus and succulents.”

The seating chart was a labour of love for the couple, who worked on the project together. “I was trying to figure out an affordable way of creating a copper backdrop when Philip surprised me with a sheet of real copper a few days before the wedding,” Joelle remarks. “We then spent hours writing out each name in white on the acrylic surface.”

For the bride and groom, spending time alone right after the ceremony was a special moment. “The wedding party had their own space to use, and Philip and I were given our own quarters,” Joelle explains. “We escaped to this space right after the ceremony; it was a wonderful feeling to spend the first few moments as husband and wife alone, just the two of us.”
