An Industrial Romance-Themed Wedding In Montreal

industrial romance in montreal - first look

When it came to planning their wedding, high school sweethearts Leihla and Alexandre knew they wanted the look of their wedding to complement their venue, Scena, in Montreal’s Old Port. “We fell in love with the venue located directly on Jacques-Cartier, overlooking downtown,” Leihla shares. “It was the perfect mix of old and new.”

Their ceremony venue, a glass room with exposed steel beams and natural wood details, gave way to their industrial romance theme, with a palette of blush, grey and copper. “We are romantics and heart and knew we had to add a softer, romantic touch,” she explains. “We loved the final look.”

The couple included personal touches throughout their wedding. “My father was the celebrant and this allowed for a very personal, intimate ceremony,” Leihla says. “There was a perfect balance of sensibility and humour, and our vows were emotional but very representative of our relationship.”

Among Leihla’s favourite details were her bouquet–a stunning mix of blush and white blooms accented by greenery with a large, showstopping protea in the middle. The bouquet also included the bride’s something old and something borrowed. “My grandmother’s ring was tied on the bouquet’s sash,” Leihla says with a smile. “She passed away almost ten years ago, and it felt as if she was there with us.”
