A DIY Wedding in Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia

Truck - Oceanside DIY Wedding

Kelsi and Christopher knew that they wanted to be surrounded by the ocean, the waves and the salt air on their wedding day, so they couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else besides the place they met, Sheet Harbour, Nova Scotia. With help from friends and family, Kelsi and Christopher designed their dream DIY wedding day. Table numbers, programs and tablecloths were hand-sewn, and sea-glass was collected along the coast for the centrepieces. They even constructed their own dance floor and pergola. The groom’s aunt adorned the cake with vintage family heirlooms and antique jewelry. Old windows and doors decorated the venue, as well as a driftwood chandelier handmade by the father of the groom.

When it came time to say “I do” Spark, one of Kelsi’s father’s horses, pulled the bride and her dad to the ceremony in a beautiful antique-looking wagon. The bride and groom say they felt as if they were living a fairytale as they exchanged the vows they wrote for one another. “Our wedding day was by far our favourite day,” Kelsi reminisces.
