Wedding date: May 25, 2012
Wedding theme: Modern Hawaiian. “Hawaiian elements were incorporated into the ceremony from the conch blower who announces the bride, to the koa wood bowl/ti leaf ring blessing and lei exchange with the family. Then to afterward throwing rose petals into the pacific to remember loved ones who couldn’t be present,” explains Wendy.
Best moment: “The naupaka flower legend story at the ceremony. We didn’t know the minister would do this, was a surprise. He tied it in nicely to explain how we were like two parts of a whole being joined together,” says Wendy.
Favourite detail: “The handmade hibiscus ring dishes,” explains Wendy.
Wedding song: “White Sandy Beach” by Israel Kamakawiwo’ole. “It fit the Hawaiian location and sounded great on the Hawaiian guitar,” says Wendy.
Honeymoon: Continued their stay in Hawaii
