Pink Ombre Wedding Cake

From the designer: “I really wanted to make a cake that reflects my bakery. We have been in business for 57 years. I am the third generation owner, trying to bring my personal touch to the traditional bakery. The cake has many vintage elements incorporated into a modern design. This cake is for a bride that still enjoys the traditional aspects of a wedding cake but wants to add a contemporary and personal flair. The cake was covered in different shades of coral fondant from light to dark to incorporate the ombre look that is becoming more and more popular. I used royal icing to pipe on the traditional swags and scrolling of a wedding cake. I then added cut out fondant flowers and topped the cake off with coral gum paste roses to give a classic cake a fresh and updated twist.”
