Wedding Hair and Makeup Inspiration from Marc Jacobs Spring 2013

Looking for wedding hair and makeup inspiration? With New York Fashion Week in full swing, we’ve been keeping an eye on all the action, scoping out hot wedding hair and makeup ideas from the shows as well as the most gorgeous gowns to hit the catwalk. We’ve been obsessing over the confections seen at Zac Posen—so feminine, fabulous and fun. The wedding gown worn by Coco Rocha in the finale was, of course, our favourite. We also love the sexy sparkly sheaths and ballgowns at Reem Acra, especially her finale gowns in red, black and pink.

When it comes to beauty looks happening on the runways, there’s lots of wedding inspiration—nude nails, glowy skin, subtle washes of sherbet-coloured shadows, rosy lips, chignons and tousled waves. Our favourite show for modern wedding hair and makeup inspiration was Marc Jacobs‘ Spring 2013 show. Hair master Guido Palau created messy sixties-inspired ‘dos complete with wide side-parts, side-swept fringes, height at the crown and messy low ponytails. The inspiration behind the beauty look was ‘60s Factory Girl and Andy Warhol muse Edie Sedgwick. When it came to makeup, it was all about the brows, great skin and defined eyes. Francois Nars created an unforgettable face at Marc Jacobs, and though you might not think at first glance, that there’s wedding inspiration there. Here’s our breakdown of how the Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2013 beauty look can inspire your wedding hair and makeup choices.
