Oscar de la Renta Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Oscar de la Renta was known for his completely luxe, simple, yet elegant designs. The late, great designer has been a bride favourite for years and with Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim taking over the reins at the iconic label, the looks are still opulent but have added a dash of cool-girl edge to the mix.

Classic column dresses and tulle ballgowns mixed with lacy sheaths and tasteful flashes of skin through illusion necklines. Unconventional pieces included a crisp white suit with a shimmering cummerbund-style belt and a ballgown with 3-D applique flowers that crept up over the bodice and onto illusion sleeves. In true Oscar de la Renta style, the accessories were seriously standout. One model donned earrings that read, ‘I do’ and the conversation starter of the show, a blinged-out statement necklace that read ‘Just Married,’ was layered over a simple white tank, a white denim jacket and tulle skirt.

While there was plenty of charm and left of centre pieces, there was still a solid lineup of dreamy gowns that every bride would love to float down the aisle in.

Legends by Romona Keveza Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Since debuting in 2005, Legends by Romona Keveza has carved out a place in the bridal market for fashionable brides who want classic silhouettes with impeccable craftsmanship. The designer’s spring 2018 collection was inspired by peaceful and harmonious undercurrents that only a union can bring, in light of the uncertainty and unrest currently in the world.

The 10-piece line dials up the elegance, sending out an array of A-line, fluted and sheath gowns that speak to a young, sartorially conscious bride that doesn’t want to stray too far from tradition. The edited collection introduces two new fabrics, a gardenia lace covering a plunging V-neck illusion gown and French embroidered chantilly lace halter dress inspired by 1940s screen siren Rita Hayworth. The feminine collection closes with a stunning classic ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and long lace sleeves. Other highlights from the collection include a strapless silk taffeta offering with beaded detailing along the bust and Swarovski rhinestone buttons and an off-the-shoulder fluted French lace number with a deep V-neck and a flowing circle skirt.

Carolina Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Designer Carolina Herrera is known for her timeless, elegant style and she approached her spring 2018 collection with the same aesthetic. According to Vogue, this season the iconic designer was inspired by the thought of a fresh country wedding and presented the collection amongst a setting of white hydrangeas and quaint garden benches.

The line was refined and edited, full of classic silhouettes with a modern edge and plenty of mix and match separates. Many pieces were adorned with oversized bows dotting sleeves, necklines and low backs for a touch of sleek femininity. Herrera also introduced a few off-the-shoulder options, which is a style that flooded spring 2017 ready to wear runways.

A few highlights from the line include a delicate tulle ballgown skirt paired with a simple beaded t-shirt and a mid-calf A-line dress with a bow on the back that would feel right at home for an intimate backyard party or more casual affair. The most intricate pieces were two strapless ballgowns with hand sewn floral appliques along the bodice and skirts. The whole collection embodies timeless elegance but in a way that feels new and fresh for 2018.

Morilee by Madeline Gardner Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

For the Morilee by Madeline Gardner spring 2018 collection, the concept behind the gowns is reflections of all kinds. “It’s the spark of radiance that shines off the crystal beading, the glisten in the eyes of the bride, it is the beauty of life’s images that touch us and that we see in those around us,” says Gardner. “What I see in these reflections bring about the special details that make my gowns come alive!” This theme is apparent in the delicate beading and craft work that is sewn onto each dress. The collection offers a selection of dramatic ballgowns and curve-hugging mermaid skirts to flatter any bride who dreams of a breathtaking entrance on her big day. Embellishments and beading featured prominently in throughout the line, with sweetheart bodices and cap sleeves tastefully sprinkled with crystal and beads. Gardner did not shy away from bold silhouettes, with many gowns featuring tiered skirts and princess-worthy layers of chiffon.

The end result is a stunning collection of statement-making pieces and tasteful glamour that any bride would adore wearing.

Naeem Khan Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Naeem Khan’s spring 2018 collection was a jaw-dropping spectacle of elaborate gowns that had a flapper-era feel to them. Lace was a big trend on his runway, but these aren’t your run-of-the-mill wedding gowns. There were ruffled tiered skirts, drop shoulder styles with peekaboo panels and elaborately embroidered peplums.

Standout detailing came by way of a caviar-beaded jumpsuit with a drawstring waist, a crystal fringe mini dress meant for shimmying the night away and several stunning pieces decked out in ostrich feathers. The craftsmanship on each piece sent out was off the charts and the extreme elegance was played up against the edgy styling for the show (all models were dripping in layered pearl necklaces and some even wore sparkly septum nose rings).

Galia Lahav Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Inspired by the Victorian era in England and its parallel phase in France, La Belle Epoque, Galia Lahav’s spring 2018 collection is a feast for the eyes.

The Israeli label is known for sultry, body-hugging gowns and opulent detailing and this collection delivers on those pillars. “You’ll find delicate textured laces, deep coloured backgrounds, careful attention to detail and an atmosphere of sheerness against substantial elements of lace,” says Lahav.

The Victorian inspiration behind the line is apparent in the delicate lace gowns, especially in styles like the Thelma, with its sheer puff sleeves and ornate detailing on the bodice. Fashion-forward brides will be intrigued by the Sterling cape, a shimmering, high collared overlay that ups the glam factor on any gown. The collection as a whole has a very ethereal vibe to it, complete with an array of colour choices from porcelain ivory to dusted silver and smoky blush.

Randy Fenoli Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

Say Yes to the Dress star Randy Fenoli debuted his first namesake bridal collection this season at Bridal Fashion Week. His 25-piece spring 2018 line is full of fairy-tale ballgowns, embellished bodices and dramatic detailing.

All the experience Fenoli has gained over the years working one-on-one with brides was his inspiration for the collection. “A wedding gown is the most important piece of clothing a woman will ever wear, so to be able to create something she loves is the most rewarding feeling for me,” said Fenoli. “My deep connection to brides inspired each piece in my premiere collection, and I am truly honoured to be a part of making a woman feel her most beautiful.”

The line covers a wide range of styles for all types of brides, from embroidered ballgowns to fitted sheaths. The whole collection built up to the show closer, the Brandi gown, a one-of-a-kind pale blue frock with a sheer bodice and 3-D flower appliques.

Dutch-design duo Viktor & Rolf have delivered another out of this world bridal collection. The high end fashion house’s spring 2018 line is their second bridal collection and it’s a strong reflection of the brand’s aesthetic, with architecturally sculpted details and graphic silhouettes. A few standouts include the Flowerbomb Bloom Gown (no doubt named after the brand’s iconic Flowerbomb fragrance) which has handcrafted petals created from layers of soft tulle sprinkled over the hips paired with a simple sweetheart neckline. For a more fun and flirty look, the Bejeweled Sparkle Mini is a flirty, short dress with a shimmering neckband (including a crystallized bow) and embellished pockets on the front of the frock. Ines di Santo Spring 2018 Wedding Dresses

For her latest collection, Ines di Santo played up themes of elegance and simplicity. The spring 2018 collection was a perfect marriage of classic silhouettes paired with unexpected details and sultry touches thanks to sheer bodices and plunging necklines. “While perhaps my idea of simple is still influenced by my Italian and Latin heritage, this season became a dance with the artist and the editor in my mind,” said Di Santo. “Not a stitch more than what was needed, yet full license to push a design that was simply more.”

The line stayed true to a pure white colour palette, save for the last gown that hit the runway. The Easton is a rich, satin ruby dress with a sweetheart halter neckline and a dramatic modified trumpet silhouette. Other standout pieces included the Kensington gown, a lace ballgown with a tiered skirt and a cathedral train and the Elodie gown, a strapless dress with a sheer embellished bodice and peplum skirt. For brides that prefer a slinkier silhouette, there’s plenty to choose from. The Elora, a lace sheath gown with a low V-back and a detachable cathedral ruffled overskirt and the Blake dress, with a sleeveless plunging neckline and illusion detailing, is sure to satisfy.
