A Luxurious Outdoorsy Wedding in Mission, British Columbia

Real Weddings

For their wedding day Alyssa and Cameron wanted to bring the forest inside. “We chose this theme because Cameron grew up on Vancouver Island in some of the most beautiful rainforests in the world, and I am an environmental professional and spend a large portion of my time trudging through rugged British Columbian landscapes,” explains Alyssa. A colour palette of forest greens, natural creams and pale pinks provided an ideal accent for their chiffon-draped, open-walled tent with a view of the lush outdoors. The tent was adorned with burlap bunting, lace, and tree-stump centrepieces.

“As the sun set with the clouds shaded in purples and pinks, we had our first dance against the silhouette of a waterfall and the bordering forest,” says Alyssa. “We could not have asked for mother nature to co-operate any more perfectly with us for that magical moment.”

Following the sunset, guests opened their s’more wedding favour kits and gathered by the fire pit to roast marshmallows. “The night was priceless,” Alyssa concludes.

The Cutest Clutches for You and Your Bridesmaids

 Cutest clutches: Spring

Finding the ideal clutch for your wedding day can definitely be tough—is it big enough to store everything you need? Is it small enough to be an accent piece that doesn’t clash with your dress? Does it match those darling shoes you’re dying to wear? Furthermore, your clutch is where you’ll store all your wedding essentials, like tissues (for wiping those tears of joy!) and makeup for touch-ups throughout the day, so it’s imperative you find a clutch that suits your needs.

You also have to keep your bridesmaids in mind. Do you want all your girls to have matching clutches? Do you want their clutches to match your own? You could always opt for the same clutch in different colours, or ask your ladies to find their own clutches in complementary shades and styles. The possibilities are endless, so we’ve done the legwork for you. Here are 15 of the cutest clutches out there for you and your bridesmaids!

A Whimsical Pink and Orange Wedding in Winnipeg, Manitoba

Real Weddings

It only took a few dates for Andrea and Daniel to know they were smitten, and just a few weeks after they met they made their relationship official. After putting in an offer on their first house together, Andrea found Dan down on one knee, ring in hand. Whilst sharing the great news with friends and family, Dan and Andrea recieved a call from their realtor with the news that their offer on their future home was accepted. “It was a whirlwind evening of love and excitement!” says Andrea.

Andrea says one of her most memorable wedding day moments occurred while taking photos with her bridal party. Another newlywed couple and their bridal party were taking pictures at the same location when the bride approached Andrea, smiled, gave her congratulations and asked for a joint photograph. “It was so sweet and made me appreciate all the other people who were experiencing the same amazing feelings as us that day,” Andrea says.

Although there were lots of small details the couple loved about the wedding, the table numbers were particularly special to them. Attached to each table number was a photograph of both Andrea and Dan at the corresponding age. “I thought it was a fun way to reflect on our past and how we’ve grown into the people we are today,” says Andrea.

Bridesmaids Gifts: Ellie Mae Bracelets

You could also opt for an affordable wedding day accessory for each bridesmaid to wear, like a bracelet, necklace, or pretty earrings to match their dresses. We’ve put together some fantastic ideas for your girls starting at just $8! Regardless of the bridesmaids gifts you choose your girls are sure to appreciate the fact that you took a moment out of your special day to acknowledge their support and friendship.

15 Creative Ways to Beat the Heat at Your Summer Wedding

Planning » Reception Ideas

If your wedding celebration is in the months of July or August, you might have some hot and sticky weather on your hands once the big day rolls around. Though it is every couples’ dream to see the sun shining bright on their wedding day, it can be grueling for guests to sit through a hot ceremony with no way to beat the heat. The first step is to make sure your guests know that your ceremony or reception will be outside so that they can dress appropriately for the hot weather–they’ll want to stay away from dark clothes and fabrics made of synthetic fiber, such as polyester. However, it’s up to you to make your guests as comfortable as they can be, so we have found some innovative ways for you to keep your guests cool and happy throughout your special day.

Wedding Candy Bar Treats To Match Every Colour Scheme

Planning » Reception Ideas

A wedding candy bar is probably one of the most functional decor items you can include in your reception. This colourful display can serve as both decoration and a source of sweet treats for you and your guests.

Compiling a wedding candy bar is an easy D.I.Y. project to tackle and it’s also quite simple to find a variety of candies to match your wedding colour palette simply by going to places like Bulk Barn or ordering online from websites like The Royal Candy Company. The best part is, you don’t have to stick to one hue to make your sweet table match your colour scheme. For example, you could mix in silver or white candies with almost any motif to add density and break up a monochromatic table. A great idea is to provide your guests with take-home boxes that they can fill with whimsical candies at the end of the night. Personalize your candy boxes or bags by stamping them with your initials!

Whatever your colour scheme, we’ve found some sweet inspiration for to help you create the ultimate wedding candy bar.
